Press

Counterfeit and adulterated agricultural inputs continue to pose a critical challenge in Bangladesh. They reduce crop productivity, affect farmer incomes, and threaten national food security. To address this, Syngenta Bangladesh, in collaboration with the Department of Agricultural Extension and with media support from the Bangladesh Agricultural Journalists Forum, organized the “Say NO to counterfeit” Webinar through The Daily Ittefaq.

The webinar brought together representatives from government, law enforcement agencies, academia, industry experts, business association leaders, journalists, dealers and retailers. Discussions focused on strengthening market monitoring, ensuring strict enforcement of regulations, and expanding farmer awareness and training on safe agricultural inputs. Dr. Md. Abdur Rahim, Director General, Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Ministry of Agriculture highlighted that coordinated action among stakeholders is essential to effectively tackle this issue and safeguard the country’s food system. Syngenta Bangladesh committed to working with partners to promote access to quality agricultural inputs and support farmers with knowledge and solutions that improve productivity and resilience.
