Hedayet Ullah took over the role of Country General Manager & Managing Director of Syngenta Bangladesh Limited since July 2022 and prior to that he assumed the role Head of Sales in the organization. A professional with more than 20 years of experience in FMCG and Agriculture sector, Hedayet started his career in Unilever Bangladesh Limited and later worked in Marico as Director – Sales before moving to Syngenta in 2020.
Hedayet has been instrumental in taking the business to newer heights setting new benchmarks in strategy, speed, and execution while aligning the board and stakeholders. He has built strong influence and leadership in delivering cross-functional projects to enrich grower experience. His well-rounded experience in commercial and customer marketing and his persistent drive to improve the livelihood of Bangladeshi farmers has enabled him in good stead to continue the strong performance of Syngenta Bangladesh.
Hedayet has versatile interests, he takes a keen interest in community development. He is associated with “It’s Humanity Foundation” to support the underprivileged children. He likes travelling and enjoys playing Badminton and golf.
Hedayet holds a post graduate degree in Economics from Jahangirnagar University and attended exclusive professional development program in renowned institutions like INSEAD.

Mohammed Shahidul Islam is responsible for Corporate Affairs Management, Government and External Relations, Regulatory Affairs, Strategic Communication, and corporate sustainability in Syngenta Bangladesh Limited since 2022.
With 18 years of comprehensive experience, Shahidul has a proven track record of managing complex business portfolios, driving sustainable growth, and enhancing corporate reputation by leveraging the Corporate Affairs function to influence brand perception and improve business performance. His ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders has contributed to significant market share and profitability gains. Shahidul Islam is a true thought leader and expert. His expertise also extends to Policy Advocacy, Sustainability Programs, and Stakeholder Management.
Prior to joining Syngenta Bangladesh Limited, he served as Head of External Relations at British American Tobacco Bangladesh. He holds an MBA in Marketing and is a Certified Public Relations Officer from CMTC in Malaysia.

Since October 2022, Imtiaz has been serving as Sales Director at Syngenta Bangladesh, where he plays a pivotal role in combating one of the biggest global challenge - food crisis by driving business strategies that improve the livelihoods of farmers. His leadership and strategic vision have been instrumental in capitalizing on untapped opportunities across the industry.
Imtiaz is a highly accomplished Sales and Trade Marketing professional with over 16 years of experience across four leading multinational corporations. Before joining Syngenta he was leading the sales function of Asian Paints Bangladesh Limited as Head of Sales. He started his career at British American Tobacco then moved to Marico Bangladesh Limited, where his last role was Head of Trade Marketing.
Imtiaz holds an MBA from the University of Chittagong, and his extensive expertise spans across demand forecasting, strategic planning, and team leadership. His work is driven by a deep passion for making a meaningful impact, both in business and in society.
Beyond his professional career, Imtiaz is committed to mentoring young people, helping them upskill and improve their livelihoods. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, swimming, and spending quality time with his family.

Professional background
Md Rayhanul Islam is a consummate professional passionate about achieving results with over 20 years’ experience in marketing. He has joined Syngenta Bangladesh in December 2004 and has worked in R&D, Commercial and Marketing functions in different roles. His holistic and impactful approach to his work has been aligning Syngenta’s objectives with the evolving needs of Bangladesh’s agricultural sector.
Rayhan has deep expertise in creating, developing and implementing overall marketing strategy in Agrochemicals, Fertilizers and Seed markets. His leadership has been instrumental on new technology establishment that ensures grower profitability and supports on food security.
Rayhan has earned a Master of Science degree in Agronomy from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU), and Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (B.Sc.Ag.) from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU). He has also received MBA major in marketing from Stamford University, Dhaka.

Nurul Alam is a highly experienced professional in the Bangladesh Agribusiness industry, with over two decades of experience. He holds an MBA from AMC, Bangalore, India, and launched his career in 2001 with ACI Limited. Since then, he has held several strategic leadership positions, making substantial contributions to the sector's growth and innovation.
Throughout his professional journey, Nurul has been associated with reputable companies & MNCs such as ACI Limited, LalTeer Seed Limited, Advanta Seed International, East West Seeds, and Syngenta Bangladesh Limited, where he managed business units & country business operations. In these roles, he successfully led strategic planning, team management, and business development efforts. His leadership has been instrumental in advancing development, refining farming practices and promoting the adaption of sustainable and modern agriculture technologies. Driven by a commitment to innovation and sustainable agricultural practices, Nurul continues to shape the industry by driving growth and empowering farmers to enhance their productivity.

Upala Shafique is a seasoned HR leader with over 20 years of experience shaping people and culture strategies across leading multinationals and joint venture companies. As Human Resources Director at Syngenta Bangladesh, she leads the full people agenda; driving talent strategy, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, DEI, and a strong employer brand to enable sustainable business growth.
Prior to joining Syngenta, Upala led HR functions for prominent organizations, including Bayer Bangladesh and Omera Petroleum & its subsidiaries, with earlier stints at global brands such as Coats Bangladesh, Robi Axiata, and ExxonMobil. She is a passionate and recognized advocate for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), having led award-winning inclusion programs and earned prestigious accolades for championing diverse, inclusive workplaces throughout her career.
A top-ranking graduate and Vice-Chancellor’s Gold Medalist from North South University, Upala holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Administration with dual majors in Human Resources and Marketing. Her passion for developing future talent extends into academia, where she has contributed as an Adjunct Faculty member; underscoring her belief in the power of learning and leadership.

Mr. Kazi Halimur Rashid has been appointed as the Finance Director at Syngenta Bangladesh Limited from the 1st of September 2023. Prior to joining the country leadership team, Halimur was working as a Business Controller for the CP (Crop Protection) Business. Halimur brings with him more than a decade long experience in which he assumed various pivotal roles across multiple finance wings ranging from Commercial Finance, Supply Chain Finance, and Financial Planning & Analysis. Before joining Syngenta, he worked in esteemed organizations like British American Tobacco Bangladesh and Marico Bangladesh Limited.
A resilient commercial individual, with a proven track record of delivering financials and supporting commercial strategies, Halimur is an alumnus of North South University with Cum Laude distinction and started his career as a Management Trainee in 2011.
Halimur’s inclusion is a valuable one to the Syngenta leadership team as he brings with him diverse cross-industry knowledge, as well as strong commercial acumen which help the business navigate through challenging times.

Mr. Mohammad Abdul Aziz Khan has been appointed as the Crop Protection Development Director at Syngenta Bangladesh Limited from the 3rd of November 2019. Aziz brings with him a more than 21 years -a long experience in agri industry which he assumed various pivotal roles in agri-industry ranging from sales, product marketing, project management, seed business etc . Before joining Syngenta, he has worked in esteemed organizations like Bayer CropScience Ltd as Head of Seeds.
A resilient commercial & R&D individual, with a proven track record of delivering product innovation as part of strong pipeline and supporting commercial strategies as long run, Aziz is an agri graduate from Hajee Danesh Science and Technology university, a master’s degree in plant Pathology from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University of Gazipur, MBA from IIUC, Dhaka campus, He also holds “Advanced course in Business Administration” from IBA, Dhaka University. Aziz is a life member of various professional institutions like Krishibid Institution, psychopathological society, entomological society, ecological society and started his career as a territory officer in 2003.
Aziz’s inclusion is a valuable one to the Syngenta country leadership team as he brings with him diverse cross-functional knowledge from agri industry, as well as strong commercial acumen which help the business by exploring new avenues.
Jasmine Khan
Legal Counsel
Ms. Jasmine Khan has been promoted as the Legal Counsel in April 2024 and then she became a member of the Country Leadership Team. Jasmine has been associated with Syngenta from 2019 full time and prior to that she has been working in Syngenta Bangladesh as the Legal Manager and prior to as a Legal Officer. Before her joining to Syngenta Bangladesh she has got past experiences in working in multinational law firms where she has provided a full length of legal services ion different areas of law.
Jasmine Khan has completed her Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) in 2015, and she had been called to the Bar of England and Wales. Prior to completing her BPTC she had done her LLB (Hons) in 2011 from University of London.
Jasmine’s inclusion into the Country Leadership Team Diversity not only brings and encourages diversity but this would help in a greater extend in understanding different perspective which can relate to employees and can also help in driving the business.
Mahfuzur Rahman Khan

An Industrial Operations Leader with a demonstrated history of working of more than 21 yrs of experience in different reputed industries. Mahfuz has developed and delivered practical & effective management solutions achieving positive and visible impact in process.
Mahfuz has core competencies include Operational strategies, People development, Asset Strategy, Risk Management, Operations Management, Production Management, Project Management and process improvement.
Mahfuz has been appointed Director, P&S of Syngenta Bangladesh in June 2024. Mahfuz joined Syngenta Bangladesh in 2019 as CP FF&P Site Manager, Chittagong, and led major transformational projects at Chittagong Site.
He was subsequently appointed as a Tolling Operations Lead in April 2023, responsible for the management of several tollers in the Europe region.
Mahfuz holds a Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology and a Masters’ degree in Finance from University of Dhaka. He also holds “Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain Leadership” from University of Warwick, UK.
